Intra Company Transfer (ICT) – Business Expansion
(Residency By Investment)
Canada Investment Visa - Intra Company Transfer (ICT)
This intra-company category allows international companies to temporarily transfer qualified employees/owners to Canada. The purpose of this is for improving management effectiveness, expand Canada’s exports, and enhance competitiveness in a global market.
To communicate their expertise to Canadian firms, thereby boosting management efficiency, expanding Canadian exports, and improving Canadian competitiveness in foreign markets.
Work permits are required for qualified intra-company transfers. They are exempt from the LMIA (Labor Market Impact Assessment) under paragraph R205(a) (exemption code C12) because the transfer of their expertise to Canadian businesses provides significant economic benefit to Canada.
Through this intra-company transfer to Canada, an employee can manage a particular branch of the corporation and later apply for permanent residency in Canada.
A temporary residence permit may also be obtained for the applicant’s family (spouse & dependent kids).
